Information Protection Technician is involved in ensuring the information security of research and development, and observance of state secrets. Carries out a check of technical condition, installation, adjustment and adjustment of equipment and devices, their routine inspections and routine repairs. Prepares hardware and software for all types of scheduled and unscheduled control inspections, certification of equipment, as well as, if necessary, delivery for repair. Carries out observations, performs work on the design of protocols of special measurements and other technical documentation, including reporting, related to the operation of tools and information control. Performs the necessary calculations, analyzes and summarizes the results, draws up technical reports and operational information. Determines the causes of failures in the operation of hardware and software, prepares proposals for their elimination and prevention, ensuring high quality and reliability of the equipment used, increasing the effectiveness of measures to control and protect information.

The main duties of an information security technician are:
- implementation of the acquisition, configuration, configuration of security subsystems of automated systems;
- use and execution of technical documentation in accordance with applicable regulatory legal acts;
- organization and configuration of computer networks;
- work with protocols of different levels;
- installation and configuration of modern network protocols, installation of computer networks;
- diagnostics of computer networks, troubleshooting computer networks;
- diagnostics, elimination of failures and ensuring the operability of software and hardware tools for ensuring information security;
- the use of standard cryptographic means and methods of information protection, including electronic digital signature.

Type of profession in the subject of labor: the main activity of the information protection technician is associated with working with numbers and codes, which allows us to classify it in the subject of labor as the “Person - Sign System” type. Also, the profession can be attributed to the type of «Man - Technique», as the work is associated with the installation, assembly and commissioning of software and hardware information protection.
