The graduate must be prepared for professional work in the field of information protection as a technique in organizations regardless of their organizational and legal norms.

At the end of this specialty, production and technological activities are possible, ie:
- ensuring the process of protecting information using the necessary types, methods, means and technologies of protection;
- accounting, processing, storage, transmission, organization of the use of various confidential information carriers:
- identification and blocking of channels and methods of unauthorized access to information, sources and methods of destabilizing influence on information;
- installation and adaptation of systems and means of ensuring the protection of information;
- monitoring the quality of equipment functioning, protected by automated and telecommunication systems, analysis of qualitative and quantitative indicators of equipment operation, diagnostics and elimination of failures, setting up and repairing equipment.

It is also possible organizational and management activities, ie:
- organization and planning of the work of performers;
- planning and organization of work on the development of certain security measures and procedures for the protection of information;
- the choice of optimal solutions when planning work in non-standard situations;
- participation in assessing the quality and economic efficiency of production activities;
- development of an information security program and provision of security policy at the enterprise;
- Implementation of the operational management of the information security unit.

As a result of training, a graduate should be able to:
- meet the requirements for the protection of information;
- ensure effective management of security policies;
- work with technical documentation and use the regulatory and reference literature.

In the field of professional activity, a graduate must:
- to carry out installation, adjustment and adjustment of equipment and instruments ensuring the protection of information, their preventive inspections and maintenance;
- perform work on the use of means of protection and control of information;
- keep records of works and objects to be protected, established technical means;
- keep logs of violations of technical equipment;
- prepare technical means for carrying out all types of planned and unscheduled inspections, certification of equipment;
- carry out measurements, carry out work on the design of special measurement protocols and other technical documentation, including reporting, related to the operation of means of control and information protection.

A graduate should know:
- principles of operation and rules of operation of software and hardware for receiving, processing, transmitting, displaying and storing information;
- the order of execution of technical documentation for the protection of information;
- instructions on compliance with the special work regime;
- The basis of the economy, the organization of production, labor and management;
- appropriate security policies and procedures for the prevention, detection and removal of malicious software;
- selection rules and password methods;
- main types of failures;
- methods of protection against failures.

In the process of practical training, graduates reinforce and deepen the knowledge gained in the process of learning, acquire skills in all types of professional activities.
